Word of the Week:TRANSITION

As I began writing this week’s Word of the Week, my mind returned to our recent series on “Protect.” I started thinking about how, why, and when we shift from being the one protected to becoming the one who protects. Protection often prepares us for transition.
That shift — whether prompted by internal growth or external circumstances — is a transition. It moves us from one state of being to another, shifting our  status, condition, assignment, or season.
Transitions can occur slowly  or abruptly.  We influence some changes, other changes we cannot control.
Here are some things I have learned about transitions.1. Transitions occur in every living being.  2. Change even occurs in death.3. What we may think or feel about change may not change the outcome4. Our prayers to keep things “just as it is” may not be answered as we expect.5. Our lives are divinely guided by God, the author of change.6. The nature of God never changes, while everything created by God moves, grows and changes.
While the word “transition” does not appear in Scripture, its influence is present from the very first words of the Bible: “In the beginning.” These words mark the start of a divine transition — the movement from nothingness into creation, from possibility  into reality.
As we embark on this word journey into “TRANSITION”, we will discuss several aspects of human transition.  Ecclesiastes 3:1 will serve as our anchor— “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” .   This verse reveals that transition is ever changing  and woven into every purpose devised by God’s divine authority.  It covers every age, every situation, every state of being, every thought and every way. Transition is the space where God reshapes us between what was and what will be.
In this series, we will explore how transition shapes our lives in moments such as:• How we transition from childhood to parenthood. (Mature)• How we deal with sudden change (Courage)• Understanding the effects of loss, grief and suffering (Depression)• Struggling with doubt, discouragement and “stinking, thinking” (Renewal)
I hope you will join me on this journey. Many of us have walked through transitions together, and I have been strengthened by your presence.  Feel free to send recommendations of words to add to this study , and  provide your insight, questions  comments or prayers.
Further, as we explore this “TRANSITION” series, understand that I am not a medical or psychiatric professional.    God is my guide.
What I share comes from Scripture, personal experience, and my understanding of God’s principles.  I can only testify to  God has guided and changed my life.  As our knowledge of God increases, we grow in faith, understanding and love of God.  It is that love that encourages me to stay close to Him and in ministry to you.
It is my prayer that the Word of the Week Ministry  motivates you to intentionally share your testimony.  Sharing strengthens you and helps others to navigate these perilous and rapidly changing times more effectively.
It is in faith that I proclaim:To God Be the Glory for all the things He has done and is about to do!
