Last week, I invited you to share your insight on the Word of the Week—Anxiety. Your responses were thoughtful and sincere. In ministry, it matters that the Word of God inspires action. A message that never moves us to respond has little effect. Your willingness to share your questions and comments shows that your engagement is active, not passive. I continue to pray that the Word will grow in us, shape us, and strengthen our lives, our witness, and our ministry.  You continue to share your comments.
One response came from Brother T.W., who shared that he struggles with Post‑Traumatic Stress Disorder from his time in the military—made even more difficult by the loss of his spouse. He testified that he found comfort in scripture, especially in Joshua 1:9, where God encourages us to be strong, courageous, and unafraid because He is always with us. In that verse, T.W. visualized someone stronger carrying the load with him. That image brought him peace.
Sister J.L., one of our podcast listeners, offered this wisdom: “It is important that we pay attention, or we will miss the flexibility of others.” Her words remind us that although we struggle, with the right guidance we can overcome. But if we are not paying attention, we may miss the moment when someone moves from anxiety into the comfort of peace.
Have you ever searched diligently for something you thought was lost, only to discover it was hiding in plain sight? That is what finding one’s purpose is like.As we try to understand why we were created and the purpose for which we live, we may be looking directly at the “why” without realizing it.
When I received J.L.’s statement, it became clear that her purpose is to help others understand life more clearly by naming what is right in front of us. Her simple instruction—“Pay attention”—reveals her gift. I know her personally, and she has many such sayings. She often speaks in parables, telling stories in ways that are relatable and grounded. She simplifies what others complicate with layers of explanation or glitter. She peels back the onion until the truth stands uncovered. That is her “why.”
Did you know that you are God’s creation, designed in advance to do good? If that is true, then it makes sense that we feel out of order when we think, say, or do what is not good. When we read, pray, meditate, and think on the things of God, we are renewing our minds—realigning ourselves with the purpose for which God created us.
God does not hide your purpose from you. Often, it is our vision that is out of alignment. Until the mind is renewed, it becomes difficult to see purpose clearly.I found my own purpose in that very way. When I felt most lost, I turned my focus to the Word of God. I found comfort there. I learned where I was right, where I was wrong, and everything in between. As my mind was renewed, my desire to share the good news became unmistakable.
My purpose became clear: my life experiences had been God’s training ground, preparing me to help others see the beauty of God through the explanation of everyday words. My witness is meant to show that you do not have to be a Bible scholar to have a right relationship with God. It is that relationship—with God and with one another—that teaches us how to live the Word in peace and love. My purpose is to help make the Word of God relatable to our human experience.
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and your purpose will be revealed.Don’t believe me.I double‑dog dare you to try it.Let me know what happens!
