UNDERSTAND
“Around this time, on November 29, 2021, God gave me the word ‘understanding’ to discuss. The final statement of that discussion on Understanding was:
“When we walk in a true relationship with God, the all-knowing One, He grants us an inner understanding—revealed at the right time and for the right purpose—as children who trust His authority. God provides exactly the understanding we need to carry out His will for our lives. And that is the only understanding we truly require.”
While the truth of this statement is undeniable, humanity is once again struggling with their need for a true relationship with God.  Our children are growing up in a society shaped by influences that make faith seem politically controversial, unappealing, unobtainable, or even irrelevant. Because of this, many are struggling to understand even the most basic human concepts.
In their confusion many are questioning or redefining their identity, while they question the purpose of relationships, marriage, procreation, the pursuit of knowledge, or whether to categorize behavior as good or evil. It is not surprising that children are confused when society itself is uncertain. Perception is shifting from spectrums of black and white to “shades of grey” and even “every color of the rainbow”.
Soon, teachers may hesitate to greet their class with “Good morning, boys and girls” to resorting instead to a safer greeting of “Good morning, kids”. (Honestly I detest the word kids...a word that implies baby goats…creatures known for butting heads and kicking against what is set before, not the blank canvass of innocence that God gives us in children.)But here is what I understand:   “What has been, is what will be,and what has been done is what will be done, there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9.
Our children may believe they are discovering something new, but in reality, they are living out variations of struggles humanity has faced before.
Think of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 18–19: a society described as corrupt, violent, and immoral. Their rejection of divine truth led to chaos and ultimately destruction. Yet even then, it was not the end of the world.
Similarly, “The Roaring Twenties”, raised the same questions.  It seems that as civilization rapidly advances technologically, humanity begins to question its core reasons for existence--as if we must change culturally at the same rate as our technology and systems.  Technology changes.  God does not
Humans were created in the image and likeness of God-- God, whose character changes not with time or circumstance.
Being made in God’s image means that human nature cannot be rewritten, redefined, or replaced.  Our purpose is eternal. Our calling is clear.
When humanity chooses to rebelliously ignore God, it serves only to complicate the simplicity of our existence. Seeking God restores what society distorts.
So, to resolve the confusion of our children, I encourage you:   Seek God, Teach God, Live Godly. In doing so, you will come to understand these foundational truths: Man and woman were created to procreate,To live in peace with one another, and to care for the world we call home.
A CONCEPT SO SIMPLE, A CHILD CAN UNDERSTAND! And profound enough to build a lifetime of faith.
