THOUGHT
imagine a 3-years-old’s chubby hand that lovingly rubs the forehead of a mother’s aching head, causing the pain to subside.
Consider your aging man’s hand as, for the millionth time, he reaches out to provide protection and security as you cross the street in a crowd.
Revel in the warm embrace of comfort given by a friend as you lovingly touch the cold, still hand of your deceased spouse for the last time.
Recognize the soft fur of a familiar friend who rubs against your leg as you enter the place you know is home.
Despise the kiss of a traitor who identifies the man as the one they sought for trial that ended in his crucifixion.
In each of these scenarios, touch is the physical, emotional, and psychological response to a transfer of energy. When we touch another person or animal, we can feel their warmth, movement, or heartbeat.
Touch is how we detect pressure, texture, temperature and vibrations, the energy of which can be miraculously translated into happiness, anxiety, comfort, pain, pleasure, sadness, or love. A person who is blind becomes more sensitive to touch, as the absence of their eyesight enhances their perception of changes in energy.
Many people are blessed with the capability of utilizing all five senses; taste, hearing, sight, touch and smell, yet they choose to walk in darkness. Their hope is in satisfying those senses. They choose their own path, and enjoy the touch of many things, but often wonder why they lack the energy transfer that brings fulfillment, happiness, truth or beauty into their lives.
There is none so blind as he who will not see….
When God first created humanity, God was present with man, until his fall from grace in the garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden fruit, they became separated from God. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent, and they all suffered the guilt and shame of their actions.
When God cursed them with the promises of pain, change of status and death, the love of God promised that there would come one to crush the head of the serpent that had caused them to fall into disgrace. (Genesis 3:15).
From the beginning, it was God’s plan to have a relationship with his creation that only a perfect sacrifice could accomplish. The sacrifice of God’s son, Jesus, removed the consequences of spiritual death initially caused in the garden of Eden, and it is the touch of God through the Holy spirit that restores life. The touch of God is like none other. This energy transfer connects one to the divinity of God that causes an emotional, spiritual and physical transformation that is as much revelatory as transformative.
Spiritually blinded eyes are opened, the senses become alive, and the discernment of truth, life, love, healing and beauty as revealed by the Holy Spirit become the rewards of the physical, emotional and spiritual awakening that occurs.
Wake up citizens of the earth!! God wants a true relationship with you. God wants to share glory, peace, joy and righteousness with you. How long will you continue to run from love’s embrace? If you let the love of God touch you, YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!And THAT, my friend, IS A GOOD THING!
