THOUGHT
Menses’ Februare (the month of February) has, since ancient times and the creation of the Julian calendar, been the month that signified the end of winter.  The word Februare means “to purify” in Latin.  It was during this month that the citizens of Rome would purify themselves, prepare the land for planting, and atone for the guilt of sin during their purification festivals. Since the 4th Century, Valentines Day has emerged as the “Day of Love” from various stories about several different martyred St. Valentines, who were priests of the Roman Catholic church. Of all the months of the year, the traditions of the one with the shortest number of days seem to address the environmental and human need for love, atonement and purification.
God created systems to maintain balance of life.  In order to be healthy, life must have care and purification.  While most of us understand the need for love and care, we often overlook the benefits of purification. Purification is the process that rids a substance of the collection of negative elements that are destructive to its existence. The earth purifies itself through changes in its environmental energy.  The overwhelmingly negative elements, toxins, gases and unnatural synthetic products that have collected in its ecosystem will cause the earth to try to restore health and balance to itself. We feel the impact of the earth’s purification system as floods, snowstorms, hurricanes, volcanoes and other eruptions as it attempts to rid itself of those destructive elements.  Purification results in clear skies, clean bodies of water, and a fruitful and productive environment.
The human body’s natural purification system includes the kidneys, intestine, lungs, lymphatic system and the skin.  The processes of these systems work to remove bacteria, toxins and disease and other destructive elements from the body.  The impact of these systems produces urine, feces, exhalation, perspiration, and other functions in its attempt to purify our bodies to keep it healthy.  The purification results in a strong heart, productive sleep, a strong immune system and a clear mind.
Even the soul goes through a purification process.  The destructive elements of fear, evil thoughts, selfishness, destructive habits and actions, require that we realign and seek balance with the nature of God.  The process required to purify the soul requires reading, understanding, believing, trusting, and living in obedience to the Word of God.  The purification process results in Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control. This fruit of the spirit will place the soul in balance with the supreme nature of God.
Imagine what a positive impact on this planet if every nation would consider doing a little “spring cleaning” for the purification of the planet and its global society.  I imagine that the world could stop experiencing the beginning of sorrows referred to in Matthew 24:6-8 and, instead, live harmoniously and in good health on this beautiful planet as God intended.
I will keep dreaming….
